Plan your wedding

Welcome to the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church. We’re delighted you are considering our beautiful facilities for your wedding. Our church can accommodate both your ceremony and reception.

Please familiarize yourself with our facilities and amenities, as well as our rental process and our use policies. These are outlined in the Rentals page and the Facility Use Policies page. We also invite you to tour our sanctuary and reception hall. To schedule a visit, email rentals@uuharvard.org and we’ll respond promptly.

How to reserve

See the Application Process. To confirm your date and reservation, Form A (Facilities Use) and Form B (Wedding Service) must be submitted.

Use of the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church facilities for weddings and commitment ceremonies is at the discretion of the minister. Our custom is for the church minister to officiate, though outside officiants may be approved. Couples should be in touch with our minister early in the planning process regarding their officiant plans, whether they wish to have the church minister lead the ceremony or invite another officiant.

The fees for the Minister and the Music Director/Organist are $550 and $350, respectively. These fees should be paid directly to each individual at the wedding rehearsal by check or cash. If live-streaming and/or recording the ceremony on Zoom is desired, there will be a fee of $150, payable to the tech assistant of the day.

The Church assumes that you will use our Minister and Music Director for your ceremony unless other plans are made and approved by the Minister and Music Director. Please note that the Music Director is entitled to request their customary fee even if you choose to use another musician.

A valid marriage license issued by the Clerk of a town or city in Massachusetts must be given to the Minister prior to the wedding rehearsal. Please note that this must be procured from the town or city hall at least two weeks prior to the ceremony.

Wedding applicants must read the Facility Use Policies & Renter’s Responsibilities and agree to the terms of use.
