Nursery care

Nursery care is available in our sanctuary nursery from 9:45 am to 11:15 am on most Sunday mornings. In our sunlit nursery, your little ones can build a world with blocks or trains, make a dish in our play kitchen, set up a home in our wooden dollhouse, or listen to a storybook.

For pre-school-aged children, you may choose if the nursery is the right place for them, or if they would rather join the older children in their Sunday activities. Many of our class activities can be scaled for a younger child or alternatives can be suggested.

Child dedications

Child dedication is a rite of passage that can happen at any age but is most commonplace for babies and young children.

Child dedication is:

  • A ceremony that usually takes place during a Sunday service
  • An official welcome to the community for the child
  • An expression of a family’s wishes and hopes for their child
  • A promise of continued support and encouragement of the child from the congregation

There’s also a separate monthly newsletter, The Family Chalice, especially for families, with info about what’s happening for parents, teens, and kids. And we have a teen newsletter (for teens and their caregivers), Notes from The Glen, that comes out every two months.
