The Glean Team is a group of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to:

  • combat local hunger,
  • reduce food waste,
  • raise community awareness,
  • increase the availability of local produce at food pantries.

Six days each week we pick up food that might otherwise go to waste from Roche Bros in Acton and Shaw’s in Stow and donate it to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry at Devens, WHEAT Community Connections in Clinton, Transitions at Devens (a temporary shelter for women and their children) and other distribution organizations. Upon request, we have picked up extra produce from Applefield Farm in Stow, Burroughs Farm in Boxborough and other farms and orchards in Massachusetts.

Gleaning connects us to the land around us, engages us as individuals with our local food systems, helps farms and stores manage resources, improves local access to fresh produce for those on limited incomes, and unites communities.

Glean Team: Bounty!
