Local shopping. Global impact.

This annual pop-up shopping event takes place on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and features regional nonprofit businesses dedicated to supporting world-wide cooperatives offering quality artisan goods. Hosted by HUUC’s Social Justice Ministry Council.

Please join us for the 7th annual Fair Trade Faire on Sunday, November 24.  11 a.m. – 3 p.m., HUUC Fellowship Building, 7 Elm Street, Harvard, MA.

  • Bags Made by Cheka Mamas
  • – A Kenyan Women’s cooperate. All proceeds will support the Cheka Mamas and Kenya Big Picture Learning. KBPL is an educational organization that serves students from the informal settlements and marginalized communities of Nairobi. KBPL’s philosophy puts students at the center of their own learning. There are over 65 Big Picture network schools in the United States and many more around the world.

  • Global Wristband ProjectGlobal Wristband Project
    – These handwoven bracelets are made by a group of friends in Thailand. A women’s group whose village suffered in the Tsunami back in 2004. The construction of each bracelet is one-of-a-kind, recycled yarns are placed on a loom and wove together with a combination of colors. By choice the young women and adults have taken up this work not only for a supportive source of income but also for therapeutic benefits.
