Seeing Our Village Through the Eyes of a Child

Welcome to RE Sunday! Join us this Sunday as we look at the village of our congregation, at our UU faith and values, and at the world at large through the eyes of our children. And may we capture some of that beautiful simplicity ourselves.

The RE Committee and I, as the director of Religious Education, will host a service showcasing moments from this year’s RE program. We will hear from our children, youth, and their teachers, visiting storytellers, and social justice advocates.

We have learned so much this church-year during our quest of exploring The Power of We. From gathering our messages on handprints that adorned our pulpit in November to our most recent success of this May’s Miracle Sunday, the big take-away is that We are the village. We are here for each other and stronger for having one another.

Children are a meaningful part of every village. Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi said, “Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world with the child’s eye—it is very beautiful.”

Note: This will be a one-time showing of the RE Sunday service. For the safety of our children and youth, the service will not be recorded for future viewing.
